Never serve alone
Volunteers should operate in teams and follow assigned leadership.
Safety & Policies
Safety protects volunteers, people being served, and the ministry. These practices help us love well without turning people into projects.
Emergencies
If someone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.
Feeding Conway leadership contact information will be listed here once established.
Volunteers should operate in teams and follow assigned leadership.
Never enter someone’s tent, vehicle, room, or private residence without appropriate authorization and leadership approval. Never transport someone privately unless specifically authorized under Feed Conway policy.
Food and practical assistance are never conditioned upon listening to a sermon, praying, converting, attending church, or providing personal information.
Volunteers may respectfully share the Gospel and explain why they serve. Never pressure someone, threaten someone, shame someone, argue aggressively, make assistance conditional, or promise what Feeding Conway cannot provide.
Never photograph or record someone without informed permission. Do not photograph minors without appropriate parental or guardian authorization. Do not use vulnerable people’s stories for marketing without explicit permission.
Volunteers are not medical professionals unless separately qualified. Call 911 for emergencies. Do not diagnose, prescribe medication, or provide medical treatment beyond your training.
Do not handle weapons. If a dangerous situation develops, disengage and contact emergency services or designated leadership.
Volunteers should not consume alcohol or recreational drugs before or during outreach. Do not attempt to physically intervene in an intoxication-related situation.
Do not collect unnecessary sensitive personal information. Do not publish people’s addresses, locations, phone numbers, medical information, immigration information, or other private information.
Volunteers should not make unauthorized financial promises or personally loan money on behalf of Feeding Conway.
Minors serving as volunteers follow additional policies. Do not allow one adult volunteer to be alone with an unrelated minor.
